Covid-19 Updates

On a more serious note:

Covid-19 is on our minds.

At the time being we are doing business as usual. We are taking extra precautions though: extra hand washing, wearing personal protective equipment, disinfecting the truck and equipment more often, changing clothes more often during the day, and social distancing from clients as best as possible.

We ask our clients to please reschedule your appointments if: you have recently traveled, are feeling ill, have interacted with someone that has recently traveled or is feeling ill, or if you are a caretaker or interacting with someone that is immunocompromised  or elderly on a regular basis. We also ask that the number of clients at each appointment remain at a minimum. For example if we are vaccinating a farm of 25 horses - all 25 horse owners do not need to be at the appointment - just the farm manager being present is enough to assist Dr Kendyl. Kendyl is also happy to follow-up with horse owners via phone or email to discuss any findings or concerns found at appointments further.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to us!

Fall Vaccines 2019

9/9/2019

What we recommend this fall:

West Nile Virus (WNV) & Encephalitis (EEE) Vaccination: Due to the high number of positive mosquito pools locally and positive eee cases this year, we highly recommend EWT/West Nile boosters for all horses this year. Ideally the booster should be given 4-6 months after your spring ewt/wn vaccine appointment. If your horse has not been vaccinated yet this year, please contact us ASAP to get an appointment!

Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) Vaccination: We highly recommend Flu/Rhino boosters for horses at all boarding facilities, horses that are exposed to new horses (frequently and infrequently), and horses that are still showing and traveling.

Fall Fecal Testing: We also recommend testing fecals in October and November for your horse. You are welcome to drop samples off at the office (please call first), or give them to Kendyl at your fall vaccine appointments. When collecting samples: 1) we need FRESH samples, 2) we only need 2ish fecal balls, and 3) place samples in a zip-lock bag with your name and horse name on the bag.

Microchips: Need a microchip to meet the USEF microchip requirements for all hunter/jumper, jumper, and equitation divisions at USEF recognized shows? We have them in stock!

If you are not sure what your animals are due for, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you!

Call or text us at 508-923-3422 to schedule your appointments today!

p.s. Keep in mind we will be offering our Winter Dentistry Discount again this year! Get 20% off all dentistry services performed between November 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020.

Summer always goes by way too fast! Fall is here which means - fuzzy ponies eating every single fallen leaf in sight, pumpkin everything, and fall vaccines!

What we recommend this fall:

Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) Vaccination: We highly recommend Flu/Rhino boosters for horses at all boarding facilities, horses that are exposed to new horses (frequently and infrequently), and horses that are still showing and traveling.

West Nile Virus (WNV) & Encephalitis (EEE) Vaccination: We highly recommend EWT/West Nile boosters for horses that received their spring EWT/WN vaccination before May 1st. If your horse received EWT/WN after May 1st, you are still welcome to re-vaccinate this fall, especially if you are in an area with higher mosquito populations.

Microchips: Need a microchip to meet the new USEF microchip requirements for all hunter/jumper, jumper, and equitation divisions at USEF recognized shows? We have them in stock!

If you are not sure what your animals are due for, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you!

Call or text us at 508-923-3422 to schedule your appointments today!
