With spring right around the corner, it is time to set up your spring vaccination appointments!

If you have showing or travel deadlines, we highly recommend getting on the schedule ASAP.

What do we recommend? Below are general guidelines for the most common spring vaccination visits.

Boarding / Show Horse Spring Vaccine Recommendations
(at farms vaccinating 8 or more horses)

Appointment #1: Rabies, Flu/Rhino, Coggins, Fecal
Appointment #2: Strangles
Appointment #3: EWT/WN, Potomac*
There should be at least 3 weeks in between appointments to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.
If 8 or more horses are vaccinated at the same farm and appointment, there is no farm call fee.

Boarding / Show Horse Spring Vaccine Recommendations
(at farms vaccinating 1 to 7 horses)

Appointment #1: Rabies, Flu/Rhino, Coggins, Fecal
Appointment #2: EWT/WN, Strangles, Potomac*
There should be at least 3 weeks in between appointments to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.
If 1 to 7 horses are vaccinated at the same farm and appointment, the farm call will be divided by the number of horse owners.

Backyard / No Travel Spring Vaccine Recommendations
Appointment #1: Rabies, EWT/WN, Coggins, Fecal
For backyard or no travel horses we recommend making your appointment for sometime after May 1st. Exceptions: If your horse has been vaccinated before May 1st in past years, or if you plan on doing fall EWT/WN booster vaccinations.

Not sure what your horse needs? Call or email us and we can help!

We would like to inform our clients that EHV-1 has been confirmed in multiple horses on one farm in Middleboro, MA. A strict quarantine is in place and all proper safety precautions are being taken. The farm is cooperating fully with all recommended biosecurity measures. More details will be released as they become available.

Please watch the video below, by Dr. Nicola Pusterla of UC Davis, for an excellent review of Equine Herpesvirus.

An FAQ by the American Association of Equine Practitioners can also be found on this page: http://www.aaep.org/info/horse-health?publication=753
